Nowadays oil and gas fields Development with high API oil presents a great challenge to the energy industry due to the low productivity of individual wells and the high cost of drilling wells. This study investigated comparison of productivity and economical assessment of Different horizontal drilling scenarios such as conventional horizontal and multilateral well to select best scenario include drilling and completion method in one of Middle East oil field. To make comparison of productivity and economical assessment of 2 kinds of multilateral well and horizontal well and their performance to enhanced oil production in one of the gigantic heavy oil reservoirs of middle east formation has been studied. recently The rate of development of multilateral wells in the petroleum industry has been significantly increased. One of the most complex designing and optimization parameter is the well path designing which has a direct impact on drilling operations and well productivity which has been investigated by results obtained from well test and reservoir simulation model and Field Data. Then, according to the geological and reservoir study and by applying the most appropriate mathematical models A Fishbone wells with four branches with a length of 300 meters with a 30-degree deviation from main hole has been selected as most productive drilling model between other models and also Open Hole Sidetrack drilling for completion was chosen for the sample well. The result indicates that the application of fishbone well with 4 branch with 70 to 150 m spacing raised 393% production of the sample well while cost of drilling has increased 130 % compare to a conventional horizontal well.
