Dr. Jamal I. Kakrasul is an Associate Professor and the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Soran University. He holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Kansas, USA, where his research focused on sustainable civil engineering infrastructures, specifically geo-structure infrastructures. With over a decade of academic and professional experience, Dr. Kakrasul has published dozens of research articles, and actively involved in engineering consultancy and has contributed to numerous construction projects across the region. He is a member of several professional societies, including the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and the International Geosynthetic Society (IGS).

Dr. Chiya Yousef Rahimzadeh is an architect and academic with a PhD in Building Energy Sustainability from Soran University. With a strong background in architecture from Islamic Azad University, he has over two decades of experience in architectural design, historical building restoration, and urban development. Currently he is a lecturer at Soran University, he has held leadership roles, including Head of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department. His exper tisse includes lighting design, sustainable construction, and restoration of cultural heritage sites. 

Dr. Ako Abdulah Daraei is a geomechanics expert with a PhD in Rock Mechanics from Shahrood University of Technology, Iran. With 18 years of industrial and academic experience, he specializes in tunnel stability, slope stability, and geotechnical designs for large-scale projects. Dr. Daraei has contributed to over 25 ISI-indexed papers and provided consultancy for major infrastructure projects, including the Rogun Dam in Tajikistan and significant tunnel projects in Iraq and Iran. He serves as a lecturer at Soran University and is active in professional associations and journal review boards. 

Dr. Aryanfar Sherwani is the Vice Dean of the Research Center at Soran University. With a PhD in Civil Engineering obtained through a split-site program involving institutions in Iraq, Germany, and the UK, he specializes in sustainable construction materials and self-compacted geopolymer concrete. Dr. Sherwani has an impressive publication record, extensive teaching experience, and leadership roles, including Head of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department. He actively in many civil enigneering constrcutions. 

Dr. Nzar Shakr Piro is the Head of the Mechatronics and Robo cs Engineering Department at Soran University. He earned his PhD in 2023, focusing on smart concrete and nanotechnology applications in construction. With a Master’s in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from  Newcastle University, UK, Dr. Piro specializes in structural health monitoring and piezoelectric materials. He has published extensively in high-impact journals and is experienced in supervising academic projects and managing large-scale construction initiaties. 

Dr. Hewa Hussein Omar is the Head of Petroleum and Mining Engineering at Soran University. With a PhD in Aviation Engines from Samara National Research University and has  extensive expertise in gas turbine opmization, he combines engineering innovation with pedagogical skills. Fluent in multiple languages, Dr. Omar has a diverse background in engineering consultancy, teaching, and community service. His research focuses on thermodynamics and sustainable engineering technologies. 

Hasan M. Hameed is a an associate professor and researcher in GIS and remote sensing modeling. He holds an M.Sc. in Hydrology from Lund University, Sweden. He has a variety of interests related to spatial analysis and land-related resources, and his research focuses on integrating contemporary hydrological monitoring into appropriate spatial and temporal measurement schemes using GIS and remote sensing. Hameed also focuses on urban growth and land use/land cover change and uses a mul-criteria decision-making model to evaluate the effect of these parameters on the water surface (runoff) and groundwater. 

Dr. Kamaran Sulaiman Ismail (B.Sc., M.Sc., PhD) is a lecturer at the  Department of Civil and Enviromental Engineering (DCEE). Soran University (SUN). He joined DCEE in 2017 following a 12-year career at Salahaddin University Hewler (SU). He obtained his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Civil Engineering from SU, as well as his PhD from The University of Sheffield in 2016. His primary research interests include the structural behaviour of RC non-flexural members, shear behaviour of concrete structures, numerical analysis of RC structures, and the use of FRP to reinforce concrete buildings.

Wazir Qasim Saleh is a dedicated civil engineer with extensive experience in surveying, road construction, urban planning, and project supervision. Since 2009, he has been actively involved in various infrastructure projects at Soran University, focusing on site engineering, soil testing, and concrete lab management. Holding a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Cyprus International University and a Technical Diploma in Civil Engineering from Erbil Polytechnic University, Wazir combines academic knowledge with practical expertise. His skills include strategic planning, AutoCAD, and project esmation.

Kawar Fazil Jabali is the Director of Engineering and Projects Directorate at Soran University. With a B.Arch. from Salahaddin University and a Diploma in Engineering Drawing, Kawar has worked in diverse roles, including landscape design, interior decoration, and project administration. His expertise spans logistics, procurement, and human resources management. Skilled in tools like AutoCAD, 3ds Max, and Lumion, Kawar has been instrumental in designing and supervising university projects 

Shvan Mohammad Ahmad, an instructor at Soran University's Faculty of Engineering, specializes in structural engineering and innovative lightweight materials. He holds an MSc in Structural Engineering and has contributed to research on reinforced concrete slabs. Proficient in soware like ETABS and AutoCAD, Shvan is involved in construction laboratory wroks and analysis of variosu structures

Rizgar Abdulrahman Omar is a lecturer in civil engineering at Soran University with expertise in transportation engineering, surveying, and materials science. He earned his MSc in Civil Engineering from the University of Gaziantep and has published research on soil stabilization and geotechnical properties. Rizgar has practical experience in highway construction and project management, coupled with teaching modules on foundation engineering and soil mechanics. 

Yousef Ahmed Rashid is a mechanical engineer with a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Salahaddin University. He has led several infrastructure projects at Soran University, including mechanical designs for dormitories, a wastewater treatment plant, and a central library. With a background in construction and system design, his expertise includes HVAC systems, plumbing, and fire safety. He has contributed to community-focused projects in collaboration with the Barzani Charity Foundation. 

Ms. Sabat Jumha Mstafa, is an Architectural Engineer and an employer at Soran University. She had experience in graphic design and marketing, along with strong knowledge of various engineering and graphic-design software.

She has completed many graphic-design projects, especially in logo design and medicine packaging design. She also also has experience in interior design and other types of graphic-design work, combining creativity, technical skills, and professionalism in every project.

Miss Khadijeh Mirza (B.Sc., M.Sc.) is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering (DCHE). She earned a BSc in Chemical Engineering with a minor in the Petrochemical Topic, as well as a Master's degree from the same department in Transport Phenomena from Urmia University of Technology in Iran. Mr Shwan Jalal Abdullah Bajalan (B.Sc., M.Sc.) is an assistant lecturer at theDepartment of Civil and Enviromental Engineering (DCEE). He received a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Baghdad University in 1997, and an M.Sc. in Structural Engineering from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in 2004. In 2005/2006, Mr. Bajalan studied postgraduate engineering at Sungkyunkwan University in South Korea. His principal scientific interest is on seismic structural safety and integrity

Badiea abdullah mahyoub Is associate professor since 2017, A lecturer at many universities since 2011., Ph.D in Corrosion Engineering, Mysore University, India, 2010. M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering, specialist of Heat Transfer, Basra University, Iraq, 2003, bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Baghdad University 1999. He has more than 30 publications in the area of Corrosion Engineering, Energy, Engineering Maintenance, solid waste recycling, and nanofluids. Two years Head of Industrial and Manufacturing System Engirting, four years vice- dean of Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, and three years dean of Postgraduate Studies Center, Tazi University. 

Aref Ghaderi, (B.Sc., M.Sc.) at Kurdistan University in (Sanandaj/ Iran) 2015, coordinator of Chemical engineering departmen, he is assisstant lecturer and he has lectuers at all departments of faculty of engineering, over 10 years' experience in positions including Consulting Civil Engineer, Director of Public Works and Wastewater, Consultant, Project Manager, Project Engineer, Structural and Civil Focused studies on concrete & steel.

Mr Yousif Jameel Bas (B.Sc., M.Sc.) has been the chairman of the Department of Civil and Enviromental Engineering (DCEE) from Feb 2022. His research interests are in structural engineering, with a special emphasis on nonlinear analysis. In 2011, he obtained his Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from Erbil Polytechnic University. In 2019, he received his M.Sc. in Structural Engineering from Kahramanmaras Sutcu Imam University (KSU)/Turkey. at the present time he is a lecturer at the DCEE and PhD student. Mr Yousif has extensive experience in strcutral design and analysis. 

Mr. Seerwan M. Ahmed currently holds the position of Head of the Laboratory Unit at the Faculty of Engineering. He completed his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Salaheddin University in 2010, and subsequently accumulated a decade of professional experience in the Engineering and Project Directorate at Soran University. In 2022, he furthered his academic qualifications by earning an M.Sc. in Engineering Materials from Soran University. Presently, Mr. Ahmed continues to contribute his expertise as a dedicated staff member within the Faculty of Engineering.
