Dr. Jamal I. Kakrasul, an Associate Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Soran University, holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Kansas, USA. He is a prominent figure in geotechnical and transporta on engineering, focusing on sustainability. With numerous publica ons and memberships in interna onal socie es like ASCE and IGS, Dr. Kakrasul has significantly contributed to research, teaching, and engineering consultancy, emphasizing sustainable infrastructure development. 

Dr. Chiya Yousef Rahimzadeh is an architect and academic with a PhD in Building Energy Sustainability from Soran University. With a strong background in architecture from Islamic Azad University, he has over two decades of experience in architectural design, historical building restora on, and urban development. Currently a lecturer at Soran University, he has held leadership roles, including Head of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department. Dr. Ako Abdulah Daraei is a geomechanics expert with a PhD in Rock Mechanics from Shahrood University of Technology, Iran. With 18 years of industrial and academic experience, he specializes in tunnel stability, slope stability, and geotechnical designs for large-scale projects. Dr. Daraei has contributed to over 25 ISI-indexed papers and provided consultancy for major infrastructure projects, including the Rogun Dam in Tajikistan and significant tunnel projects in Iraq and Iran. He serves as a lecturer at Soran University and is ac ve in professional associa ons and journal review boards. 

Dr. Aryanfar Sherwani is the Vice Dean of the Research Center at Soran University. With a PhD in Civil Engineering obtained through a split-site program involving ins tu ons in Iraq, Germany, and the UK, he specializes in sustainable construc on materials and self-compacted geopolymer concrete. Dr. Sherwani has an impressive publica on record, extensive teaching experience, and leadership roles, including Head of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department. He ac vely mentors graduate students and contributes to the American Concrete Ins tute and Kurdistan Teachers Union. 

Dr. Nzar Shakr Piro is the Head of the Mechatronics and Robo cs Engineering Department at Soran University. He earned his PhD in 2023, focusing on smart concrete and nanotechnology applica ons in construc on. With a Master’s in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from  Newcastle University, UK, Dr. Piro specializes in structural health monitoring and piezoelectric materials. Dr. Hewa Hussein Omar is the Head of Petroleum and Mining Engineering at Soran University. With a PhD in Avia on Engines from Samara Na onal Research University and extensive exper se in gas turbine opmiza on, he combines engineering innova on with pedagogical skills. Fluent in mul ple languages, Dr. Omar has a diverse background in engineering consultancy, teaching, and community service. His research focuses on thermodynamics and sustainable engine technologies. 

Hasan M. Hameed is a lecturer and researcher in GIS and remote sensing modeling. He holds an M.Sc. in Geoma cs from Lund University, Sweden. He has a variety of interests related to spa al analysis and land-related resources, and his research focuses on integra ng contemporary hydrological monitoring into appropriate spa al and temporal measurement schemes using GIS and remote sensing. Hameed also focuses on urban growth and land use/land cover change and uses a mul-criteria decision-making model to evaluate the effect of these parameters on the water surface (runoff) and groundwater. 

Wazir Qasim Saleh is a dedicated civil engineer with extensive experience in surveying, road construc on, urban planning, and project supervision. Since 2009, he has been ac vely involved in various infrastructure projects at Soran University, focusing on site engineering, soil tes ng, and concrete lab management. Holding a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Cyprus Interna onal University and a Technical Diploma in Civil Engineering from Erbil Polytechnic University, Wazir combines academic knowledge with prac cal exper se. His skills include strategic planning, AutoCAD, and project esma on.

Kawar Fazil Jabali is the Director of Engineering and Projects Directorate at Soran University. With a B.Arch. from Salahaddin University and a Diploma in Engineering Drawing, Kawar has worked in diverse roles, including landscape design, interior decora on, and project administra on. His exper se spans logis cs, procurement, and human resources management. Skilled in tools like AutoCAD, 3ds Max, and Lumion, Kawar has been instrumental in designing and supervising university projects 

Shvan Mohammad Ahmad, a laboratory assistant at Soran University's Faculty of Engineering, specializes in structural engineering and innova ve lightweight materials.
